Religious Education
We at Sacred Heart Church are very proud of our Religious Education program where the basics of the Catholic faith are presented at every grade level in an age-appropriate manner. The Religious Education program also embraces the children at our St. Jude mission. They receive their religious training in the mission itself. Our Religious Education program is integrated inasmuch as it is our parish vision that our Hispanic children fully participate in one program with the rest of their non-Hispanic peers. Arrangements are made for very rare cases when a Hispanic child might experience language difficulties, in which cases bilingual catechists provide all possible assistance.

Ages pre-school through 6th grade receive positive, fun experiences learning of the love of God and the Church. They explore how giving, receiving, and sharing are woven into the fabric of Catholic living. They are also introduced to the powerful and essential messages of the Gospel. They receive appropriate teaching on church doctrine and the basics of our faith, while participating in music, art, and other special activities. Grades 7 - 12 have retreats, activities and instruction on living out their Catholic faith morally. They continue to develop knowledge and an appreciation of the Scriptures. They learn life skills that will continue to cultivate a Catholic way of life and knowledge that faith makes a difference in their lives.
